A dilapidated building used by Victoria University has been decried as a “house of horror” for international students, according to a report in the NZ’s Dominion Post.
On local said she was was aghast that international students housed by the university had to live among such shoddy conditions.
“The people living here are treated like animals. It is like living in a pigsty.”
The university-owned houses in Landcross St, with those it owns in Salamanca Rd, Clermont Tce and Adams Tce, are collectively known as University Hall. As at March 2006, they housed 202 students.
